Week 9 - REFINED LESSON PLAN PRESENTATION - Incorporating Non-ESL Website in Lesson Plan

The advancement of technology has never stopped from benefiting the human kind. Teachers have also become the party who continuously gaining benefit from technology.

The incorporation of websites in teaching and learning would benefit the teachers through captivating pupils' or the Z generations' attention towards the interactive feature available websites. This is because they are prone to technology since their early age.

Thus, in this post, a lesson plan which incorporates the use of website will be demonstrated along with the worksheet that will be used to accompany the lesson plan execution.

ACTIVITIES:

I.                     PRE-LESSON
Teacher opens the YouTube website and asks pupils if they ever used the website. Teacher asks questions about their purpose of perusing YouTube.


II.                   LESSON
ACTIVITY 1 (Individual Work)
         i.            Teacher explains about today’s activity and asks pupils to visit her blog.
       ii.            Teacher asks pupils to watch the video '10 Wonderful Facts About Earth You've Never Heard Before' on YouTube.
      iii.            Teacher asks pupils to open the given link.
      iv.            Teacher and pupils discuss the answer.

ACTIVITY 2 (Pair work) Think-Pair-Share
i.                Teacher starts activity 2.
ii.              Pupils discuss the answer in pair.
iii.             Pupils complete activity 2.
iv.             Teacher picks a random answer to share.
v.               Teacher postpones the class if the time is insufficient.


III.                 POST-LESSON:
Teacher asks pupils to google on "why Hawaiian Mauna Kea is the highest mountain in the world" according to the video.

Answer:
The mountain height is measured from above the sea level.
Hawaiian Mauna Kea has an altitude of 13, 795ft (4, 205m) above sea level but the rest part of the mountain rests below the sea level which makes it 33, 475ft (10, 203m) if measured from the sea level and 4, 445ft (1, 355m) taller than Mount Everest.
The highest mountain above the sea level is Mount Everest.
Highest mountain, officially, is measured above the sea level.
